Put the current time first
Candidates should be able to locate the time with a quick glance. Exam Room Clock gives the current time the largest type, followed by start, finish and optional remaining time. The title and room identify the session without competing with the clock.
Long course descriptions, instructions and administrative notes belong elsewhere unless candidates need them on the timing screen. A short paper code or exam title is usually easier to check than a paragraph.
Choose light or dark in the actual room
Dark appearance uses light numerals on a near-black background. Light appearance uses dark numerals on white. Try both on the equipment you will use: projector brightness, the screen surface and daylight can change which one is easier to read.
Do not judge the projected result only from the laptop. Look at the screen from the back and sides of the room. Keep the room’s required lighting conditions during the test.
Size is more than a font setting
Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large change the current-time clock size. The screen layout adapts to available width, including the am or pm marker when 12-hour format is used. A smaller browser window naturally limits the largest readable type.
If the image is cut off, check the display’s overscan, scaling or aspect-ratio settings before shrinking the clock. If the image is too small on the wall, increasing projector image size may be more effective than adjusting the website.
Hide controls without losing access
Display controls hide after a short idle period so they do not cover exam information. Move the pointer, tap the screen or use the keyboard to reveal them. Controls remain available while they have keyboard focus. Use the Controls button to return to them deliberately.
Fullscreen is available when the browser allows it. If it is unavailable, you can still maximise a regular browser window. Review operating-system notifications and screen-saver settings separately; a webpage cannot control every interruption from the device.
Keep the room free of distractions
There are no third-party advertisements, analytics scripts or marketing popups in Display Mode. The small site address is a quiet reference, not a rotating message. Status changes use words as well as visual placement, and the screen does not flash when time runs out.
