Exam clock or countdown timer?

Compare what each display tells you

A duration timer can suit a personal practice session. In a shared exam room, a fixed schedule lets staff compare the display directly with the published start and finish. A countdown alone does not identify the date or tell you whether the device clock is correct.

Opening late does not restart the schedule

Exam Room Clock uses fixed start and finish timestamps. If an exam runs from 09:00 to 10:30 and you open its display at 09:20, it has 70 minutes remaining. It does not start another 90 minutes. Before 09:00 it shows the full duration and “Not started”; at the finish it shows zero and “Exam finished”.

The current-time clock keeps running after the scheduled finish. There is no alarm, automatic submission or instruction to candidates. Staff remain responsible for administering the exam.

Choose the visible fields

In Display options, choose 12-hour or 24-hour time, seconds and clock size. You can hide remaining time, start, finish or the title individually. Keep the current time readable from the back of the room. A short title can help staff identify the correct paper.

Where candidates have different finish times, a shared countdown may be misleading. This version shows one schedule per display; it does not manage extra-time groups. Choose fields according to your examination instructions and communicate individual arrangements through your established procedure.

Try the layout before the room is occupied

Open the configuration form, enter a test schedule and compare a layout with and without remaining time. Check the result on the actual screen. Then follow the setup checklist and accuracy checks before using it for an exam.
